Homeopathy
Homeopathy is the complex art of applying small doses of naturally occurring substances with known symptom profiles to diseases and health issues which manifest similar symptom characteristics. This results in deep healing with profound implications.
Homeopathy is a challenge to define, yet the concepts are easily understood. With historical review and explanation of basic concepts, you will be able to grasp the amazing healing potential of homeopathy.

The principles behind homeopathy were observed and practiced for thousands of years. The Greek physician Hippocrates (460-377 BC), known for the Hippocratic oath, developed revolutionary concepts resulting in the origins of both Homeopathy and Western medicine.
He observed that there were 2 ways to apply ‘medicines’ based on the laws of ‘contraries’ or ‘similars’. The ‘law of contraries’ (allopathic - western) administers a suppressive treatment focusing on one body part or alleviating related symptoms. If the symptoms change or disappear, the patient is termed ‘cured’. The ‘law of similars’ (homeopathic) administers small doses of natural substances orally, which focus on the entire symptom complex, considering mental and emotional stress also. This stimulates healing at core weaknesses, thus bringing wholeness on multiple levels! The debate over treating disease with allopathic or homeopathic methods continues to this present day.
The ‘law of similars’ was understood and is incorporated into daily life by numerous cultures: European, Greek, Mayan, Chinese, Native American, and Asian Indians.
A renowned Swiss physician, Dr. Paracelus (1493 -1541), proposed the ‘law of infinitesimal dose’. He developed and promoted the unique concept of using the smallest possible dose of minerals in the treatment of disease, which is a major principle of homeopathy today.
The 3 basic tenants are:
The Law of Similars states: ingestion of a substance that reproduces symptoms as displayed by a disease, will cause an internal alteration at the root level of body function, appearing to cancel the destructive control and effects of the disease, true healing is produced.
The Law of Infinitesimal Dose states: A remedy is a substance that has been prepared, diluted, tested, and characterized with its own symptom complex. The more a remedy is diluted, the greater it’s potency becomes, but the lowest optimal potency is always given.
The Law of Totality states: In order to treat “disease” manifestations, all aspects of the whole person including physical, emotional, and mental symptoms, must be addressed at the same time.
The World Health Organization states that homeopathy is now (2006) the second most utilized health treatment in the world. It is safe for infants and animals, yet capable of addressing chronic illnesses in adults. Historically, it was used during deadly epidemics such as cholera, malaria, typhoid fever, and Spanish Flu (1918). Success was higher than any other treatment, resulting in extremely low mortality.
Homeopathy Is Unique
Stress-Link Connection - The link between stress and disease is both acknowledged and inherent in each remedy.
Total Symptom Complex - Each remedy is matched to the individual and all symptoms are considered.
Noninvasive / Non-Drug Treatment - The integrity of the body is never violated or forced or compensated for.
Real Listening and Acknowledgment- Every comment is important and every symptom is recorded. 10-20 hours is initially invested into every individual.
Integral Healing - Deep healing affects the functionality of the whole body.
Personalized Program - Every person is walked through the process and encouraged on their health journey.
Personal Insight and Understanding - Each client gains new insight and a deeper understanding of their unique personal make up. Parents also gain valuable insight into their children.
Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843) was a physician, chemist, linguist, historian of medicine, and scientific revolutionary. He became very disillusioned and skeptical of the medical methods being practiced, so he quit his career in medicine early. He knew there had to be a better way of healing - one that did less harm to patients. While translating medical books written by the Scottish physician William Cullen, Hahnemann came across writings describing the usefulness of Peruvian bark (quinine) in treating malaria. He noticed that the symptoms of poisoning from the bark when used in large quantities and the symptoms of malaria were remarkably the same. What if this similarity was the basis for “true” medicines having curative power?
For the next 6 years he pursued testing his theories with many other substances also. Through exhaustive "provings" and meticulous record keeping, his conclusions presented a remarkable way of stimulating healing with far better results than any modality of healing known.
His findings were so profound; Hahnemann devoted the rest of his life developing homeopathic principles of healing. He effectively consolidated his medical knowledge, observations, and experimentation into a reliable healing system. Basing his system on administering natural substances that created symptoms like the symptoms of the disease being treated, he named the method “homeopathy”, which is derived from the Greek word homeo, meaning like, and pathos, meaning suffering.
Hence the homeopathic theorem, ‘Like Cures Like’.
